Discover the standard container types we offer, why these sizes dominate global trade, and how you can modify them for custom projects with ease and affordability.
Eveon sells standard container types most commonly used in global supply and trade (20ft, 40ft, 40ft high cube). Consequently, these are the Corten Steel boxes found most often rolling by you on the highway in route from depots and ports transporting goods. The standardization which was implemented in the 50’s allowed boxes to be easily transported globally. As nearly 80% of all good are imported and exported using these standard container sizes, Eveon only sells these units that are primary resources found in Global supply and trade.
As you can imagine, uniformity is vital to efficiency when it comes to transporting and moving millions of containers through a port or depot. An outlier is a cog in the wheel, a disruptor, that can back up or shut down a factory or well-run global supply. While being unique and authentic is welcome in life, one size fits all is best in the shipping industry.
Less common containers like 10ft, 45ft, 25ft and containers with side doors are not commonly used on a shipping vessel unless they are packed into a larger unit.
You can modify any shipping containers you buy from Eveon quite easily and affordably. There are a number of resources, tools, Facebook groups and podcast to help you learn and navigate the upgrade journey. Modifying used shipping containers involves careful integration of essential systems and structural updates.
Electrical wiring must be safely installed, often requiring surface-mounted conduits or recessed channels to meet code.
Plumbing can be added using raised flooring or cutouts for drains and water lines, especially for sinks, toilets, or showers.
Vents and HVAC systems are added to ensure airflow and temperature control, often with louvered vents or mini-split units.
A standard shipping container has two vertically opening doors that swing outward on heavy-duty steel hinges. Extra doors and windows can be cut into the steel walls with reinforced frames for security and weatherproofing.
Insulation is crucial to regulate temperature and prevent condensation, especially when storing sensitive items. You can use spray foam, rigid panels, or batt insulation. For tips and tricks, follow Bendheim Boards on Youtube.
Walls and shelves can be installed using metal or wood framing, allowing for storage, organization, and aesthetic improvements.
Painting gives you the ability to customize your box and create affordable, on-site advertising. The best paint depends on the container's intended use and environmental exposure.
Roofing can be easily added to the shipping container at any time. Many customers install sloped or extended roofs to improve drainage, add shade, or create covered outdoor workspaces.
